Covid-19 six months: How the pandemic affected health and economy of Bangladesh
September is the sixth months since the first coronavirus cases has been identified in Bangladesh. On march 11, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared the covid-19 as a pandemic. Roughly two weeks later on March 26 in line with other country and health Bangladesh government has executed national lockdown to mitigate the spread of coronavirus in Bangladesh as the total confirmed cases crossed 44 and 5 people have been died.
This global crisis caused by Covid-19 has hit Bangladesh's economy and health sector hardly.
Health Sector
On March 8, Bangladesh's first coronavirus cases was identified. For the first month, there only 164 covid-19 positive patient were identified, among them 10 percent patient died, and only 20 percent patient have got cured. After end of second month, total cases stood at 12,424
Total confirmed cases have been growing since July and stood at 1,68,645, after July, total confirmed cases showing a downward trend.
