10 shops gutted in Ctg fire
No casualties were reported
A devastating fire gutted 10 shops in Chattogram's Sitakunda in the early hours today (27 January).
However, no casualties were reported.
According to the Chattogram Fire Control Room, the fire was initiated in an oil depot in front of Faujdarhat Cadet College gate area around 12am and engulfed the adjacent shops soon. Upon receiving information, seven uint of firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the fire at around 8:50am after about nine hours of hectic efforts.
Meanwhile, the shops gutted in the fire are of different owners.
According to the officials, the fire ignited from an electric short circuit caused damage of Tk25 lakh.
