4 injured in CU Chhatra League infighting
The clash ensued between the two BCL factions on the campus at around 1:30pm
At least four students were injured in a clash between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in Chittagong University (CU) over establishing supremacy on the campus.
Supporters of the two shuttle-train based BCL groups – "Choose Friend with Care (CFC)" and "Sixty nine group" attacked each other on the campus on Sunday, leaving at least four injured, campus sources said.
Both groups gathered at Shah Amanat hall and Shah Jalal hall and threw bricks at each other, four activists were injured in the clash.
"A misunderstanding occurred among junior activists, we are trying to solve the problem," said CU BCL Secretary Iqbal Tipu.
CU Proctor SM Monirul Hasan said, "Some BCL activists got involved in a clash. Hearing the news we rushed to the spot and controlled the situation. We are closely observing the situation and deployed additional police forces to avoid any untoward incident."
