At least 426 people were killed and 813 others injured in 392 road accidents across the country in September, according to a report by the Road Safety Foundation (RSF).

Vehicles involved in accidents: The statistics reveal that motorcycle riders and passengers accounted for 179 deaths (42%).

- Truck-pickup-van-tractor-trolley passengers - 22 (5.16%)
- Private car-microbus-ambulance-jeep passengers - 24 (5.63%)
- Three-wheeler passengers (e.g., easy bike, CNG, auto-rickshaw, auto-van, tempo, leguna) - 63 (14.78%)
- Locally-made vehicle passengers (e.g., Nosimon, Korimon, Bhutbhuti, Alomshadhu, Mahindra) - 06 (1.40%)
- Bicycle-pedal rickshaw riders - 10 (2.34%)
Types of roads:
- 162 accidents (41.32%) occurred on national highways
- 144 (36.73%) on regional roads
- 47 (11.98%) on rural roads
- 34 (8.67%) on urban roads
- 5 (1.27%) in other locations

- 82 (20.91%) were head-on collisions
- 169 (43.11%) resulted from losing control
- 94 (23.97%) involved pedestrians being hit
- 41 (10.45%) involved vehicles being struck from behind
- 6 (1.53%) occurred due to other reasons
