450 women fell victim to gender-based violence in July
137 women were raped, 23 were gang raped, ten women were killed after rape and one committed suicide after being raped
A total of 450 women and girls faced various gender-based violence including rape, femicide and sexual assault across the country in July this year.
Women rights organisation Bangladesh Mahila Parishad (BMP) published a report on August 5 based on news reports of 14 national dailies.
Among 170 rape incidents, 137 women were raped, 23 were gang raped, ten women were killed after rape and one committed suicide after being raped.
There were 30 incidents of rape attempts on women, ten were molested while 22 were assaulted physically while acid was thrown on two.
