7 arrested over inciting labour unrest in Gazipur
They were arrested in a case filed with Basan Police Station over vandalism and inciting violence
Joint forces today (5 October) arrested seven people, including three women, over allegations of inciting workers' agitation and vandalising factories in different areas of Gazipur.
They were arrested from the Vogra area of Gazipur city this morning, said Basan Police Station Officer-in-Charge Jahangir Alam.
The arrestees were identified as Hasna Akhtar, 24, Sajeda Begum, 28, Meghla Akhtar, 30, Abdul Momin, 22, Rakib Hossain, 23, Masum Ali Sheikh, 21, and Md Raihan, 24.
They were arrested in a case filed with Basan Police Station over vandalism and inciting violence.
OC Jahangir said, "The arrestees were leading the labour movement to create discontent and vandalise various factories.
"Police produced them at court and later, they were ordered to be sent to jail."
