7 Bangladeshis win Aerial Photography Awards 2020 in France
The winning photographs will be displayed at the Paris Photo Festival on 14 and 15 November in Paris
Seven Bangladeshi photographers have won awards in various categories in Aerial Photography Awards (APA) 2020 in France.
The winners are Azim Khan Rony, Md Tanvir Hasan Rohan, Pinu Rahman, Touhid Parvez Biplob, Abdul Momin, Ali Ashraf Bhuiyan and Sujan Adhikari.
Photographers from 75 countries participated in the first edition of the event with thousands of photographs. Among those 15 photographs of Bangladeshi photographers were awarded including seven on the top.
Among the seven photographers of Bangladesh, two photographs of Azim Khan Rony have won the first place in the People and Editorial categories respectively.
He also holds second place in the Ronnie Editorial category as Over All Aerial Photographer of the Year and four other honours in the Special Mention category.
Travel photographer Md Tanvir Hasan Rohan won fourth place in the editorial category and three more awards in the special category.
One photo of versatile photographer Pinu Rahman won the third place in the editorial category. Pinu is a senior principal officer of the state-owned Rupali Bank.
Photographer Md Touhid Parvez Biplob, a businessman by profession and the founder of Bogra Photographic Club, won the fourth place in the Man Made category.
One photograph of Ali Ashraf Bhuiyan, a senior officer of Bangladesh Police by profession, has won an award in the Special Mention category.
Abdul Momin, photographer by profession, won the award in the Special Mention category.
One photograph of Sujan Adhikari won award in the Special Mention category.
The submission of photographs for the competition started in April this year and ended on September 20.
The purpose of the event is to introduce talented photographers from different parts of the world including France.
The best photographs will be displayed at the Paris Photo Festival, the largest photo fair in the world, on 14 and 15 November in Paris.
The rest of the event will be organised online due to the coronavirus situation.
