Investigators will submit charge sheet in the murder case by first week of November
The Detective Branch investigation has found evidence that Buet student Abrar Fahad was murdered on suspicion of his affiliation with the Islamic Chhatra Shibir – the student wing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.
Investigators will submit the charge sheet in the murder case by the first week of November, said DB Additional Commissioner Abdul Baten.
"Eyewitnesses, Buet canteen staff, teachers and others have given depositions under Section 161 of the Code of Criminal Procedure," the police official said at a press conference at the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's media centre in the capital.
Abrar Fahad, a student of Electric and Electronic Engineering, was beaten to death allegedly by a group of Bangladesh Chhatra League activists on October 6 midnight at the Sher-e-Bangla Hall of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.
