BRT project to be completed by 2024: Adviser
The Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project has been instructed to be completed by 2024, Road Transport and Bridges Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan said on Saturday.
The adviser gave the directive during a discussion held in BRT bus depot office in Gazipur, after inspecting the construction work of the BRT project along with the Ambassador of France to Bangladesh, Marie Masdupuy.
The adviser stated, "In order to provide the desired service to the people, we have to bring creativity, efficiency and dynamism in our work. The involvement of local administration and local people should be increased for proper planning and management of the project."
Advising to be careful so that the public money is properly utilised in the service of the people, the adviser said that immediate steps should be taken to repair and renovate the damaged properties of the BRT project during the recent student movement.
Senior Secretary of the Road Transport and Highways Division Md Ahsanul Haque, and Professor M Shamsul Haque from the Department of Civil Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology were present at the time, among others.
