Bangladeshi students observers International Mother Language Day in China
Bangladeshi students studying at Huzhou University in Zhejiang Province of China organised a day-long programme to celebrate International Mother Language Day.
This great event was organised by the Bangladesh community of Hujho University on Sunday. Gao, a teacher from Huzhou University, was the chief guest at the event.
At 7am in the morning, students paid homage to the martyrs and placed floral wreaths at a makeshift Shaheed Minar.
After that, a discussion meeting was held on the biographies of the language martyrs.
Mostaq Ahmed Nishat, president of International Student Union of Huzhou University, Raihan Ahmed, office assistant of Huzhou University and Bangladeshi students -- Shamim, Uttam, Shakib, Sabbir, JB, Farhan, Noman and others spoke at the discussion. The speakers highlighted the sacrifice of the language martyrs.
The second part of the programme included an exhibition, wall writing and drawing competition and Amar Ekushey Smriti Cricket Tournament.
Zakir Hossain won first place and Afif won second place in the wall writing competition. Laboni won first place and Naim won second place in the drawing competition.
After the cricket tournament, the day-long programme ended with giving prizes to the winners and the closing remarks of the chief guest.
