Another flight arrives in Sylhet from UK
"If anyone is found without a negative certificate, they will be sent to institutional quarantine"
Another flight from the United Kingdom today landed at the Osmani International Airport in Sylhet carrying 167 passengers.
Of them, 144 were dropped there and the rest boarded a connecting flight to Dhaka.
Airport manager Hafiz Ahmed said, "The passengers have coronavirus negative certificates with them, but we were are still checking those. All of them have been told to be in home quarantine for two weeks."
The coordinator of the medical team at the airport and Upazila Health Officer Shirazum Munir said, "Everyone is being monitored. If anyone is found without a negative certificate, they will be sent to institutional quarantine."
Earlier on 24 December, a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, carrying a total of 202 passengers from the United Kingdom, arrived at Osmani International Airport amid panic over a new variant of Covid-19 in the UK. All the passengers brought coronavirus negative certificates with them from the UK.
