Bangladesh Air Force accords reception to freedom fighters: ISPR
The contributions of the heroic freedom fighters and the members of “Kilo Flight” are remembered with utmost respect by the nation
Bangladesh Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan today (22 November) accorded a reception to the gallantry award holders, heroic freedom fighters of Bangladesh Air Force, heroic members of "Kilo Flight," and their successors at BAF Shaheen Hall in the city's Tejgaon.
The contributions of the heroic freedom fighters and the members of "Kilo Flight" are remembered with utmost respect by the nation, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) media release.
In recognition of their sacrifice, the reception was organised on the occasion of Armed Forces Day 2024, where a total of 29 heroic freedom fighters and their successors were present.
The members of "Kilo Flight" and their successors were also present at the ceremony.
The chief of air staff exchanged greetings with the freedom fighters/their successors and Kilo Flight members/their successors during the event, the release said.
He mentioned that the Bangladesh Air Force, which was born with only three aircraft on the battlefield of the Great Liberation War, is today equipped with sophisticated fighter aircraft, transport aircraft, helicopters, various types of radars, missiles, and even overhauling technology.
A number of projects have been undertaken to increase operational and administrative capacity, and several projects have been successfully implemented.
With profound respect and gratitude the air chief remembered the contribution of freedom fighters and members of ̔Kilo Flight' in the Liberation War of 1971, the release said.
The sacrifice and contribution of heroic freedom fighters and the members of Kilo Flight have become the source of inspiration for all the present members of Bangladesh Air Force.
Principal Staff Officers, senior officers, and airmen of different bases of the Bangladesh Air Force were present on the occasion.
