‘Bangladesh-India relations at a new height’
Regarding sharing the water of common rivers, including that of the Teesta, the minister said that the two countries are hopeful of a dignified solution through dialogue
Relations between Bangladesh and India have now reached a new height through the sincere initiative of the two countries' prime ministers, said Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader.
"The friendly relations between the countries are multidimensional", said the minister at a press briefing after a courtesy meeting with the newly appointed Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram Kumar Doraiswami at the minister's office in the capital's Secretariat on Monday.
Regarding sharing the water of common rivers, including that of the Teesta, the minister said that the two countries are hopeful of a dignified solution through dialogue. There has already been positive progress in the talks.

So far 928 buses and 500 trucks have been procured for BRTC under the Indian Loan Program. Besides, necessary equipment is being procured for the development and maintenance of road infrastructure. Work is in progress to upgrade the road connecting the Ashuganj river port to Akhaura land port to a four-lane highway, he said.
A representative team of the Bharatiya Janata Party is scheduled to visit Bangladesh to strengthen ties between the political parties of the two countries.
