The road communication with five districts was cut off
The students of Barishal University (BU) blocked the Barishal-Patuakhali highway from 10.45 am on Saturday morning to continue their movement against the attack on fellow students.
The road communication with five districts was cut off. Additional police force was deployed in the area.
On 16 February, a student of Barishal University was stabbed by a staff of BRTC bus counter at Rupatoli during an altercation.
Later, 14 students were severely injured by a group of attackers led by Kawser Hossain Shipon, the secretary of Rupatoli Bus Owners Association in Barishal. The attack took place in their hostel on the same night as they were about to file a case.
On 17 February, the university authority filed a case in connection with the incidents without mentioning names of attackers, though the victims identified the attackers.
The students have been protesting against the attack since 17 February demanding the arrest of the attackers.
On the other hand, all the staff of the Rupatoli Bus Workers Union blocked the Rupatoli Bus stand for arresting a worker of the union in connection to the matter.
