BGB ready to tackle any untoward situation at frontiers

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has said they are completely ready to tackle any untoward situation at the frontiers.
"BGB is fully prepared and alert to prevent any kind of unwanted situation or mischief at the borders," said BGB headquarters in a short message.

BGB has also strengthened security at the Akhaura border. Extra security measures have been put in place at the Akhaura landport.
Since yesterday, no hotel accommodations have been provided to Bangladeshi passengers in Agartala, causing significant distress to travellers.
According to reports, on Monday, protesters attacked and vandalised the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala.
On Tuesday afternoon, BJP supporters announced a long march towards the Akhaura border, further heightening tensions at the border.
As a result, security has been ramped up at the border, and additional BGB personnel have been deployed at the Akhaura landport.
Since yesterday, Bangladeshi travellers in Agartala have been facing difficulty in securing hotel accommodations.
Many have been forced to return to Bangladesh without completing their required tasks. Due to the protests, as of Tuesday afternoon, goods exported from India could not be cleared at the Agartala landport.
Khairul Alam, the officer-in-charge of Akhaura Immigration Checkpost Police said, "Travellers returning from India had raised multiple complaints, including the refusal of hotel accommodations and harassment at immigration."
