Blockade on Ctg-Khagrachhari road not lifted, Hathazari at standstill
Meetings between Hefazat leaders and administration were held at Hathazari police station in six phases following the incident
Hefazat-e-Islam held a series of meetings with the administration following Friday's clashes at Chattogram's Hathazari that left four people dead, but madrasa students are yet to lift blockade on the Chattogram-Khagrachhari road.
What is more, the protesting students placed a five-point charter of demands before the administration.
After the sixth and last meeting held at 5 pm on Saturday, Hefazat-e-Islami leader Mir Idris said, ''We have decided to hold janaza for the deceased students in Chattogram city. After the janaza, their bodies will be handed over to respective families.''

However, police officials did not make any comment regarding the matter.
Protesting madrasa students placed five-point demands during the discussions with the administration, local MP Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, who attended the meetings, said.
The demands include autopsy of the four deceased is a must; no interference with the burial of them; proper treatment of the injured; appropriate action against the police members responsible for firing; and judicial probe into the incident.
The administration has yet to make any decision regarding the demands.
Hefazat Deputy Organising Secretary Mir Idris told The Business Standard: Janaza will not be held at Hathazari. However, the students did not agree to lift the blockade. More time is needed to bring the situation under control.
Meetings were held at Hathazari police station in six phases between Friday night and Saturday afternoon where Hathazari MP Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, Chattogram Range DIG Anwar Hossain and District Superintendent of Police SM Rashidul Haque and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
Besides, Hefazat-e-Islam Naib Ameer Ashraf Ali Nizampuri, joint secretary general of Hefazat Nasir Uddin Munir, Mir Idris, and Hefazat leader Maulana Mahmudul Hasan took part in the meeting on behalf of the organisation.
At least four people were killed, and dozens injured, when several hundred Hefazat-e-Islam activists clashed with cops in Chattogram's Hathazari on Friday.
