BSF shoots Bangladeshi dead along Darshana Border
A flag meeting with the BSF has been arranged to get back the body
A Bangladeshi national was shot dead near Darshana border of Chuadanga on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Nazim Hossain, hailing from Akandabaria Village of the district.
Confirming the matter to The Business Standard, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) 58 Commanding Officer Lt Col Kamruzzaman Ahsan said: “Nazim Hossain died near pillar number 74 and his body is being kept at Krishnanagar police station in India.
“Patrolling members of India’s Border Security Force (BSF) from Mathpara Camp opened fire on a group of people including Nazim on Wednesday night while they were trying to enter India illegally.”
“Nazim was wounded and died on his way to a hospital. Others accompanying the deceased during the incident managed to flee,” said the BGB officer.
He added that a flag meeting with the BSF has been arranged to get back Nazim’s body.
