Businessman found dead with hands, legs tied in his Old Dhaka residence
The deceased Nazrul Islam hailed from Belabo in Narsingdi and ran a shop - Nazrul Engineering Workshop - in the Lalbagh area of Old Dhaka
Police today (4 December) recovered the body of a businessman, Nazrul Islam, 32, from a house in Chawk Bazar area in Old Dhaka.
He lived there as a tenant with his wife, two sons, and a daughter.
Confirming the matter, Chawk Bazar Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Abul Khair said, "The body was found with hands and legs tied. We have sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for an autopsy. Initial findings suggest murder, but the exact cause will be confirmed after receiving the autopsy report."

According to reports, Nazrul Islam hailed from Belabo in Narsingdi and ran a shop - Nazrul Engineering Workshop - in the Lalbagh area of Old Dhaka.
Nazrul's younger brother, Touhidul Islam, told Prothom Alo, that his brother's wife and children had gone to visit their village home in Narsingdi last Friday (29 November), leaving Nazrul alone in their Chawk Bazar residence.
"Since Monday night [2 December], we couldn't reach him by phone," Touhidul said.
Concerned by the lack of communication, Nazrul's college-going son, Sumit, returned to Dhaka yesterday evening (3 December). Upon reaching their home, Sumit unlocked the door and retrieved Nazrul's National ID card (NID) before heading to Lalbagh and Chawk Bazar police stations to file a general diary (GD). However, neither station accepted the GD.
Later that night, around 1:30am, Sumit and a friend went back to the residence and entered the house.
"Sumit found his father's body in a room, with hands and legs tied with lungi and the face covered. The rooms were ransacked," Touhidul added.
With the help of neighbours, Sumit called the police, who then recovered the body.
Touhidul further mentioned that the building's caretaker could not provide any concrete information about Nazrul.
"The caretaker said Nazrul mentioned his business materials had been seized by some miscreants in Gazipur, so he had gone there. But the workshop manager claimed that Nazrul left the workshop on Monday night and was unreachable afterwards," Touhidul said.
The family remains uncertain about the events leading to Nazrul's death. Investigations are ongoing.
