The Flower Festival Gala Night Concert is set to take place tomorrow (February 6) at MA Aziz Stadium in Chattogram.
The concert will feature performances by popular bands, including Nagar Baul and several others.
Due to the expected large crowd at the concert, the book fair at Gymnasium Premises will remain closed for the day.
However, it will resume as usual on Friday, 7 February.
Chattogram City Corporation's Chief Executive Officer, Sheikh Muhammad Touhidul Islam, confirmed the decision, stating, "The entrance to both MA Aziz Stadium and Gymnasium Premises is the same. Given the anticipated crowd at the concert, we have decided to close the book fair for a day to ensure public safety. The fair will reopen the next day."
Earlier, the District Administration had sent a letter to CCC seeking their opinion on temporarily suspending the book fair. Chattogram Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam sent the official request to the CCC Chief Executive Officer on 3 February.
The book fair, which began on 1 February at Gymnasium Premises, features 140 stalls, with 74 from Chattogram and 44 from Dhaka.
