Child raped in Faridpur, 1 arrested
Police have arrested a man for allegedly raping a 7-year-old child in Saltha upazila of Faridpur.
The arrestee is Bidhan Malo, 50, son of Dhiren Malo hailing from Kakdi village in Majhardia union.
According to police and the locals, Bidhan raped a child from Ballavdi Union in a boat at Kakdi Baor on Friday evening.

After the child informed its family about the incident, the police arrested Bidhan from Kakdi village on Saturday night.
The child's uncle filed a case in Saltha Police Station in this regard.
Saltha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) (Investigation) Subrata Goldar said the accused was arrested and has been sent to Faridpur court on Sunday morning.
He also confirmed that the victim has been sent to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for medical checkup.
