Bangladesh on fast track of dev: Outgoing Chinese envoy
Outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Li Jiming lauded the rapid economic development of Bangladesh, crediting the positive role of the international development partners including China.
"I firmly believe Bangladesh has a much brighter future in the years to come," said the Chinese ambassador as he paid a courtesy call on Planning Minister Abdul Mannan at the ministry Monday.
"I was appointed as the ambassador of China to Bangladesh, with the mission to uplift the strategic partnership of cooperation between the two countries to a higher level. I think we made a lot of achievements in these three years and four months," Li Jiming said.
"I enjoyed my tenure as ambassador in Bangladesh and we strengthened the bilateral relationships," the outgoing Chinese envoy said, adding, "We have also achieved a lot of projects, and some more will be finished next year."
The planning minister also expressed appreciation for Li Jimming for his role in boosting the bilateral ties between Bangladesh and China during his tenure in Bangladesh and asked him to visit again.
"China is and always will be a great friend," said Abdul Mannan.
