The complaint will be filed as a case after talking to high officials, Sadar Model Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Md Shahjahan said
A complaint was filed against physician and media personality Abdun Noor Tushar for allegedly defaming Brahmanbaria district on social media.
Rabiul Hossain Rubel, president of Brahmanbaria District unit Chhatra League, on Tuesday, logged the complaint with Sadar Model Police Station against Dr Tushar.
Additionally, 636 unknown persons have also been named in the complaint for sharing the post of Dr Tushar and three others.
Sadar Model Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Md Shahjahan said the complaint will be filed as a case after talking to high officials.
According to the complaint, Dr Tushar aroused anger among 32 lakh people of Brahmanbaria by presenting the district in a negative way in his Facebook post. Through this, there is a possibility of clashes among people of Brahmanbaria and other districts.
It also said Dr Tushar, in the Facebook post, broke the law by distorting the pronunciation of Brahmanbaria district as a "B'baria" as in "Bolod-baria" (Fool-baria).
In 2011, Brahmanbaria District Administration issued an order prohibiting the abbreviation of Brahmanbari to B.baria and take action if anyone does so.
Rabiul Hossain Rubel said, "Like 32 lakh people of Brahmanbaria district, I have been insulted and shocked by the remark of Dr Tushar."
