Complaint filed against Hasina, Rehana over killing of fruit vendor in Jatrabari
Deceased Farid's father Sultan Miah filed the complaint with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shakil Ahammed and pleaded to take the matter into cognizance as a regular case.
A fresh complaint was filed today (20 August) against 21 people including former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, son Sajeeb Wazed Joy and daughter Saima Wazed Putul over killing of fruit vendor Farid Sheikh in the capital's Jatrabari area.
Deceased Farid's father Sultan Miah filed the complaint with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shakil Ahammed and pleaded to take the matter into cognizance as a regular case.
The court recorded the statement of the complainant, and said the order would be passed in this regard later.
According to the documents, Farid Sheikh was shot by police on 4 August around 3:30pm on a road at the south of Mayor Hanif Flyover's Jatrabari toll plaza. He succumbed to his injuries at Mugda Hospital on 6 August.
The other accused in the complaint include Obaidul Quader, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Hasan Mahmud, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel and Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh.
