Graduation parade of trainee SIs held in Sardah
480 trainee cadets sub-inspectors participated in the parade
The graduation parade of the 40th batch of trainee sub-inspectors (SIs) was held at Sardah Police Academy today (15 January) without the 321 discharged cadets.
Inspector General of Police Baharul Alam, who was the chief guest at the ceremony, inspected the parade and distributed medals among the trainees who excelled in various subjects.
The event began at 10am with the guests taking their seats. Then, the IGP inspected the parade, which was participated by 480 trainee cadet SIs, including 22 female cadets.
They participated in the parade in eight contingents. The IGP presented medals to Cadet Badiuzzaman for being the best academic, Nazrul Islam for being the best infielder, and Ariful Islam for being the best in all subjects.
According to sources at the Sardah Police Academy, 821 SIs were recruited for training in the 40th cadet sub-inspector batch. They started basic training in Sardah on 4 November 2023.
Of them, 22 people were discharged on charges of serious crimes at different times. The academy issued show cause notice to 321 SIs in four phases for causing disorder in the field and class. They have already been dismissed from their jobs.
Of these, 252 were dismissed on 21 October last year, 58 on 4 November, three on 18 November, and eight on 1 January this year.
