IPH accountant served show-cause letter for corruption
According to the letter, Mahbubur had illegally purchased supplies of the institute without a tender and resorted to direct cash purchase
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has served a show-cause letter on an accountant of the Institute of Public Health for corruption.
In the letter, the DGHS on Tuesday asked Mahbubur Rahman to explain within the 10 working days as to why he would not be punished for corruption and misconduct under the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeals) Rules 2018.
According to the letter, Mahbubur had illegally purchased supplies of the institute without a tender and resorted to direct cash purchase.

He had also distributed around Tk24.43 lakh of Tk25 lakh – meant for purchasing supplies of the institute – among officers and employees of the institute illegally.
Mahbubur had even illegally constructed a house and lives there on the government land inside the IPH compound, according to the letter.
The letter further said he was made accused of "corruption".
Sheikh Hasan Imam, director (Admin) at the health directorate, who has issued the letter, confirmed the matter to The Business Standard on Wednesday.
