Chargesheet submitted in PMO document forgery case
Four people have confessed their guilt
Police have submitted a chargesheet against six people, including Tariqul Islam Mumin, expelled vice-president of the Bangladesh Chhatra League's central executive body, in a case of forging documents of the Prime Minister's Office.
Mohammad Kamal Uddin, Inspector of Tejgaon Police Station and the investigation officer in the case, has filed the chargesheet in court, confirmed court sources on Tuesday.
The other accused in the chargesheet are Fatema Khatun, an employee of the PMO, Nazim Uddin, Rubel, Farhad Hossain, a student of North South University, and retired Air Commodore M Abdus Salam Azad, former treasurer of Bangladesh University of Professionals.

Meanwhile, M Abdus Salam Azad is a fugitive, while the other accused are in jail. The investigating officer has applied for an arrest warrant against him.
Four people including Tariqul Islam have confessed their guilt.
According to the case statement, a document was sent to the PMO from the Education Ministry for the prime minister's approval. In the document, three people were nominated for the position of treasurer of North South University.
The nominated people were: Professor M Enamul Haque, the chairman of the history department of the university; Retired Air Commodore M Abdus Salam Azad, former treasurer of Bangladesh University of Professionals; and Md Abdur Rauf, professor of Civil Engineering, BUET.
The premier selected the name of professor Dr Enamul Haque. Later, while preparing to send the document to the President for final approval, Fatima, an office assistant in the PMO, informed Tariqul by phone that M Abdus Salam Azad had not received the approval.
Following that, according to Tariqul's plan, Fatema took the document out of the PMO and handed it over to a person named Farhad.
Before handing over the documents, Fatema received Tk10,000 through bKash and in the second phase after the transfer, she took Tk10,000 through her son's bKash account.
Director-7 of the PMO Mohammad Rafiqul Alam filed a case on May 5 over this incident.
