Councillor Khokan on one-day remand

A Dhaka court today placed Dhaka North City's Ward no-36 Councillor Toimur Reza Khokan on one-day remand.
Khokan was taken in remand in a case filed over an attempt to murder of student Md Sohel during the July-August movement in the city's Hatirjheel area.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mostafizur Rahman issued the remand order as police produced Khokan before the court and pleaded for a seven-day remand.

Sohel was shot during the July upsurge in Jheelpar area under the Hatirjheel thana on 19 July.
Later, he filed the case with the Hatirjheel thana.
Police arrested Khokan on Sunday.
