Court orders seizure of tax files of ex-BFIU chief, 2 others
A Dhaka court today (3 February) ordered authorities concerned to seize tax files of former chief of Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) Masud Biswas, police inspector Mir Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad and his wife Sabina Yasmin over graft allegations.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the orders, allowing separate pleas of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The ACC in its plea against Masud Biswas alleged that the former BFIU chief amassed illegal wealth of Tk1.87 crore and kept those under his possession. It also accused Abul Kalam for amassing illegal wealth of Tk59 lakh.
