Salman Shah death: PBI asked to submit probe report March 30
PBI chief claims they are serious about the investigation of the murder case
A Dhaka court on Sunday asked Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to submit a probe report by March 30 in a case filed over the death of film actor Salman Shah.
Metropolitan Magistrate Baki Billah passed the order after PBI failed to submit any probe report on Sunday.
Shahriar Chowdhury Emon, known as Salman Shah to his numerous fans, was found dead in his Dhaka apartment on Sep 6 of 1996.
Police had filed a case of unnatural death considering it a suicide, but Salman's family objected to it and lodged a murder case.
Salman's father Kamar Uddin had started the case, but after his death, mother Neela Chowdhury emerged as the plaintiff.
Talking to The Business Standard, PBI chief Banaz Kumar Majumder said, "We are facing difficulties in investigation as most of the evidences of the case were destroyed."
He, however, claimed that PBI was serious about the case.
