SC extends status quo on BAIRA election
It will be maintained until the disposal of a rule issued in this regard, SC says
The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court today (18 November) extended its order imposing status quo on the process of the election of Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies (BAIRA).
The top court on 11 November had imposed a status quo on the election till today. Extending that status quo, the apex court said it will be maintained until the disposal of a rule issued in this regard.
"Disposed of and status quo till disposal of the rule," said the order passed by the three-member apex court bench headed by Justice Md Ashfaqul Islam.
Advocate Joynul Abedin and Advocate Gazi Qamrul Islam Sazal stood for a writ petition filed in this regard, while Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kazal argued for opposite party.
