Suspend Narail judge from criminal proceedings: HC to law ministry
The action was taken against Judge Sheikh Abdul Ahad, as he had formed a ‘murder complaint’ in the Enamul Haque murder case, while exempting the prime accused
The High Court (HC) has ordered the Law Ministry to suspend Narail District and Session Judge Sheikh Abdul Ahad from criminal proceedings for next one year. The HC bench, consisting Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman, passed the order on Thursday.
The action was taken against Judge Sheikh Abdul Ahad, as he had formed a ‘murder complaint’ in the Enamul Haque murder case, while exempting the prime accused.
Enamul Haque was shot dead in front of the Chondinagar Govt Primary School in Kalia area of Narail on February 10, 2015. Subsequently, Nazmul Huda (brother of the deceased), lodged a lawsuit at the Kalia Police Station.

A total of 68 people had been accused in the case, Mollik Majharul Islam being the prime accused.
The District and Session Judge Sheikh Abdul Ahad recorded the charges, associated with the case, on June 10 of this year, without including the ‘prime accused’ in the record. The deceased’s brother then appealed to the HC, seeking cancellation of the order.
On July 7, the HC issued a rule asking why the judicial power of Sheikh Abdul Ahad should not be withdrawn for exempting the accused. Besides, the HC stayed the order of the judge, asking the prime accused to surrender before a court.
