2 Ansar men arrested over 'instigating' protesters

Police have arrested two Ansar members over "instigating" protesters while pressing home their demands for better working conditions and benefits.
The arrestees are Md Sohag Mia and Md Mizanur Rahman Tuhin. They acted as coordinators in the Ansar movement, said the Bangladesh Police in a statement today (3 September).
Dhaka District Police arrested Sohag from Savar today while Mizanur was arrested by Cox's Bazar District Police.
Earlier on 26 August, a Dhaka court sent 382 Ansar members to jail in several cases filed over clashes with the students in front of the Secretariat gate the night before.
Although, prior to that, the interim government already announced plans to address the demands of Ansar members, who were protesting for ensuring better working conditions and benefits.
The Public Security Division said it noted that a few instigators were attempting to create disorder within this disciplined force. The government will not hesitate to take legal action against them if necessary, it added.
