Buet hands over Abrar’s belongings to family
Director of Students’ Welfare Professor Mizanur Rahman handed over the belongings to Abrar’s father on Wednesday
The authorities of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) have returned the belongings of Abrar Fahad, a slain student of the institution.
Director of Students' Welfare Professor Mizanur Rahman handed over the belongings to Abrar's father on Wednesday when he along with his younger son went to the university.
The Buet administration returned the books and clothes of Abrar to his father. Later, they sent the materials to their Kushtia home by a courier service.
Abrar's father Barkat Ullah told The Business Standard that they received Abrar's books, other documents and clothes.
"We did not find some books which Abrar used to read," he said.
"Laptop and mobile phone are also in the police custody. They will give those back after investigation," Barkat Ullah added. Meanwhile, Abrar Faiyaz, younger brother of Abrar, fainted while he went to his brother's room.
Buet chapter Chhatra League activists tortured Abrar to death in early October over a Facebook post criticising water-sharing between Bangladesh and India.
