Bus helper held over accident of BIWTC official
A team led by Al Amin Sheikh, sub-inspector of PBI, arrested bus helper Bacchu Mia from Gouripur Upazila in Mymensingh around 8:30pm on Friday.
The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) yesterday arrested another person in connection with a case filed over the accident that caused a female government official to lose her leg in the capital's Banglamotor on August 27.
A team led by Al Amin Sheikh, sub-inspector of PBI, arrested bus helper Bacchu Mia from Gouripur Upazila in Mymensingh around 8:30pm, said a press release.
Bacchu was absconding since the incident.
Earlier on September 2, the PBI also arrested bus driver Morshed from Kazipara area in the capital.
Krishna Roy Chowdhury, 55, assistant manager (accounts) at Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation, lost her left leg after a recklessly-driven bus ran over her on a pavement in Banglamotor area on August 27.
The victim was rushed to the Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital from where she was shifted to the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation.
