Joint forces arrest ‘Boba Biriyani’ owner’s son, 10 others from Mohammadpur’s Geneva Camp
Joint forces have arrested 11 people, including the son of "Boba Biriyani" owner from Mohammadpur's Geneva Camp for allegedly peddling drugs.
A team of the Bangladesh Army and the police arrested them during a joint operation in the early hours of Friday (29 November), Mohammadpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ali Iftekhar Hasan confirmed the matter.
Drugs and weapons were seized from the arrestees during the operation, he added.
The OC also said Altaf, owner of Boba Biryani, and his son Irfan are ringleaders of a drug peddling gang.
"Altaf and his son were seen with weapons in various recent clashes. Videos have also been published in the media. Altaf's family members had been dealing drugs under the guise of the biryani business," said the police official.
There is a case filed against Irfan and some of the arrestees, he further added.
