A Khulna University (KU) student was fatally shot in the head in Khulna city at around 9pm on Friday (24 January).
The victim has been identified as Arnab Kumar, 28, son of Chittaranjan Sheel of the city's Banargati area, according to Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP).
"Arnab was a master's student at KU's Business Administration Department," KMP Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Ehsan Habib told The Business Standard.

"At around 9:15pm, unidentified men shot Arnab in the Tentultala Mor area. He was shot in the head," said Habib.
"Later, locals took him to Khulna City Medical College Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead," the KMP official added.
