Rab now uses chopper to trace robbers
According to law enforcers, Abdul Hakim has a number of hideouts deep in the jungles
The Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) launched a helicopter operation at Teknaf border on Wednesday to trace the hideout of Rohingya outlaw Abdul Hakim. Members of Rab-15 hauled the remote hills and detected some suspicious spots.
Rab-15 Teknaf In-Charge Lt Mirza Shaheed Mahtab said, "Previously, we have destroyed some of the hideouts using drones. Detectives are also intensified monitoring to arrest the culprits. More raids will be carried out in future."
On Wednesday, Rab and police personnel took position in different places while the helicopter made the roundups.
Sources said infamous Rohingya terrorists Abdul Hakim and Salim control the criminal activities in the camps. They are connected with robbery, theft, murder, drugs and other illegal activities.
According to law enforcers, Abdul Hakim has a number of hideouts deep in the jungles of Fokiramura and up other hills. He also leads an armed group of at least 50 men.
There are seven murder cases against Hakim, including killing of a local Awami League leader. Besides, there are kidnapping, rape, narcotics and robbery cases against him.
The other accused – Salim - allegedly killed local Jubo League leader Omar of Jadimura area.
