Robbers kidnap child from Azimpur staff quarters after looting house
Robbers kidnapped a child after looting money and gold ornaments from a house in the medical staff quarters of Azimpur in Dhaka today (15 November), reports Prothom Alo.
Lalbagh Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kasoinu said police have started an investigation into the robbery and efforts are underway to rescue the child.
According to police and family sources, in the morning, a group of robbers entered the house of Farzana Akhtar, an employee of the Ministry of Home Affairs who lives in the staff quarters with her husband and a child.
The robbers took Tk1.5 lakh in cash and four bhori of gold ornaments, sources said.
On condition of anonymity, a colleague of Farzana told Prothom Alo that the robbers had taken Farzana's child and the child has not yet been found.
