Rohingya youth lands in jail in yaba case

A court has sentenced a Rohingya man to 5-year imprisonment and fined him Tk5,000 in a yaba smuggling case.
The convict, 30-year-old Mohammad Faisal, hailing from Mangadu district of Myanmar, is son of Mohammad Firoz.
Judge Mahmudul Hasan of Joint Judges and Sessions Court, Cox's Bazar passed the order.
Abul Qasim, the court's Assistant Public Prosecutor, confirmed the matter.
According to court sources, Faisal was detained after finding 15,000 pieces of yaba tablets from his possession during a search of Teknaf-2 BGB checkpost in 2018.
Later, Nayek Fazlul Haque filed a case against him.
