BSF kills Bangladeshi youth at Cumilla border
He is the latest Bangladeshi to be shot dead by the Indian border force
The Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) shot dead another Bangladeshi national on Monday evening.
The deceased was identified as Kamal Hossain from Kuriapara area of the upazila, said Lt Col Iftekhar Hossain, commanding officer of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Battalion-10 in Cumilla.
"We have strongly protested the killing. But we are not yet sure why the youth went there," he told TBS.
"We have been informed that his body will be sent back to Bangladesh after an autopsy," the BGB official added.
According to locals, Kamal was shot dead by the BSF after crossing about 25 meters into Indian territory through the border, reports our local correspondent.
He is the latest Bangladeshi to be shot dead by the BSF.
Earlier in September, at least two teenagers were shot dead by the Indian force. Bangladesh lodged formal protests with the Indian government over the incidents.
