Daffodil International University celebrates 18th founding anniversary
Daffodil International University (DIU) has recently begun its four-day long program to celebrate its 18th founding anniversary in observance of the 100th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The opening ceremony was held at the university's permanent campus in Ashulia, said a press release.
State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Md Enamur Rahman, MP inaugurated the program as chief guest.

Dr Md Sabur Khan, chairman of DIU presided over the program.
The program was inaugurated by flying 100 kites containing pictures of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and President Abdul Hamid.
DIU arranged four-day long inter-departmental sports competition, math Olympiad, intra university cultural competition, IT quiz, project showcasing and exhibitions along with bus rally, pitha utshab, blood donation program, discussions, picnic, tree planation, games, raffle draws, and gala musical by the students of the university.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rahman said, "It's government's responsibility to ensure education for all, but due to some limitations, government cannot perform it properly. Daffodil International University is extending cooperation to the government to fulfill this gigantic task."
"This type of founding anniversary program plays a vital role to promote and extend interaction and help bridging harmony between current and alumni students," added Dr Rahman.
Dr Md Sabur Khan said in his speech that there are alternatives for students to enhance their skills for their careers. DIU is doing a lot to develop students' skills by taking initiatives such as the art of living, employability 360-degree, one student one laptop, etc.
The university has distributed more than 34 thousand laptops among its students free of cost to encourage them to be entrepreneurs. It has also set up innovative lab, arranged entrepreneurship fund and insurance coverage for the students to ensure smooth education and also family security, Dr Khan added.
