Declare election date instead of wasting time in the name of reforms: Rizvi
Commenting on India's stance, he said, "India desires conflict, violence, and communal unrest in Bangladesh to tarnish the face of this revolution. But the people of this country will decide its future, not external powers"
Addressing Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has urged for the national election schedule to be announced without delay in the name of reforms.
"We are walking on the path of democracy amidst international conspiracies. While reforms are necessary, it is imperative to ensure elections swiftly," Rizvi said at a winter clothing distribution programme in the Naodapara area of Rajshahi city today (14 January)
He accused ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina of turning Bangladesh into a "money mine" for her close associates and engaging in corruption.
"It is evident now how deeply corrupt Sheikh Hasina has been," he added.
Rizvi also criticised Hasina's previous claims, saying, "She had claimed that Awami League can be bought but she cannot be bought, but India bought her first to serve their interests."
Commenting on India's stance, he said, "India desires conflict, violence, and communal unrest in Bangladesh to tarnish the face of this revolution. But the people of this country will decide its future, not external powers."
After the event, Rizvi distributed blankets to the needy and announced further distribution in Golzarbag Eidgah and Guripara areas later in the day.
