Deputy commissioners of 25 districts transferred
Deputy commissioners of 25 districts have been withdrawn from their posts and transferred to various ministries and government offices.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued two notifications in this regard today (20 August).
They have been transferred from districts including Dhaka, Sylhet, Habiganj, Mymensingh, Magura, Rangpur, Gaibandha, Naogaon, Natore, Cox's Bazar, Chattogram, Noakhali, Gazipur, Cumilla, Sylhet, Khulna and Gopalganj.
In another notification, the deputy commissioners of Faridpur, Sherpur, Kushtia, Jhenaidah, Pabna, Bogra, Joypurhat and Chandpur were transferred.
No new deputy commissioner has been appointed in these districts as of yet.
The interim government announced various state reforms since taking over.
Various officials have turned in their resignations since the ouster of the Awami League government.
Earlier on 14 August, in a significant administrative overhaul, the interim government terminated the contracts of 10 secretaries or officials of equivalent rank and also sent another secretary to compulsory retirement.
