The Dhaka North City Corporation will start an eviction drive from September 22 to free the roads and footpaths from illegal encroachment.
Dhaka north Mayor Atiqul Islam made the announcement at a meeting at the city corporation's office on Tuesday.
"No-one will be allowed to run business occupying roads and footpaths," he said.

Atiqul urged all to join them and free the footpaths from illegal encroachment.
He warned that action will be taken against those who have blocked roads and footpaths with construction materials.
