Dhaka South conducts 11 drives to ensure hygiene maintenance, remove mosquito larvae

The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on Wednesday operated 11 mobile courts in different areas under its jurisdictions to ensure hygiene rules to curb the infections of the coronavirus and remove mosquito larvae.
Regional executive officers and three executive magistrates of the city corporation conducted these drives, said a press statement.
During the drives, aroundTk1.25 lakh was fined from those who were not maintaining hygiene rules and those establishments where mosquito larvae were found.

TanjilaKabirTropa, executive magistrate of DSCC led a mobile court in the Dhanmondi area to detect mosquito larvae.
During the drive, she visited 17 establishments and found the presence of Dengue larvae in an establishment. She fined the owner of that establishment Tk40,000 in a case.
Another DSCC Executive Magistrate AH IrfanUddin Ahmed operated a mosquito removing drive in Swamibag area and visited 35 establishments in the ward no 40 and 41.
During the drive, Tk40,000 was fined in a case for having the presence of mosquito larvae in an establishment.
Meanwhile, MdMuniruzzaman, property officer and executive magistrate of DSCC led a drive in the ward no 75 and recovered a landdetermined for aninterim waste management center from encroachers.
Besides, AnikMerina, another official of DSCC conducted drive in the capital's Katabon, Dhanmondi, Green Road, and fined Tk24,000 in six cases from two restaurants and one variety shop who were found selling food or products by violating the ongoing lockdown rules and from some cars which had occupied roads illegally.
On the same day, the DSCC officials operated drive in the Khilgaon-Bashabo area to implement the government announced lockdown rules to ensure the curb of the coronavirus pandemic.
During the drive, some bus drivers and passengers were handed over minor penalties for their non-compliance with the hygiene maintenance.
Similar drives were also conducted in the capital's Kamrangirchar, Beribadh, Babubazar, Sadarghat, Laxmibazar, Nazira Bazar, and some other areas.
During the drives, many people were handed over financial penalties while many illegally opened shops were shut down to implement the lockdown measures.
