Dr Zafrullah made the statement while speaking at a discussion titled 'Expectations and Achievements in 50 Years of Independence' organised by Bangladesh Chhatra Odhikar Parishad at Purana Paltan in the capital.
Zafrullah Chowdhury said, "Many things need to change, especially the judiciary and its spineless judges. Many laws need to be reformed; some laws need to be sent to the grave."
Regarding the custodial death of writer Mustaq Ahmed, he said that Mushtaq died because the spineless judges did not grant him bail and as a result, they cannot avoid the responsibility of his death. "The judges should also be brought under trial for their actions," he added.
