Admission test: Medical education directorate to scrutinise certificates of 193 quota holders
The admission process of these 193 candidates will remain suspended until the scrutiny is completed
The Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME) has sought all relevant certificates of 193 candidates who passed the recently held MBBS admission exam under the freedom fighter quota.
The candidates have been asked to verify their certificates at the DGME office in Dhaka's Mohakhali by 29 January, according to a notice issued today (20 January).
The admission process of these 193 candidates will remain suspended until the scrutiny is completed, said the notice.

"The 5% freedom fighter quota for MBBS admissions for 2024-25 academic session will apply only to children of freedom fighters as per existing rules. This excludes grandchildren of freedom fighters," read the notice.
Earlier this morning, a protest rally was held at the Central Shaheed Minar in the capital demanding the abolition of the freedom fighter quota.
The protesting students demanded that the medical entrance exam results be cancelled and re-released after abolishing the freedom fighter quota.
Results of the MBBS admission test for the academic session of 2024-25 of public and private medical colleges was published yesterday (19 January).
