NUB announces Tk18cr incentive package for students amid Covid-19
Existing and newly admitted students will be able to pay this semester fee in 4 installments
Northern University Bangladesh (NUB) has announced an incentive package of around Tk18crore for students during the global pandemic of coronavirus.
NUB today announced the special incentive package to ensure continuity of student life for its students, according to the management of NUB, says a press release.
Under this special incentive programme, students will be able to meet their all educational expenses starting from different educational equipment to internet data package to ensure uninterrupted education life.
The university has decided to waive almost 100 percent of the tuition fees for the summer semester 2020 for students who are infected with Covid-19.
Newly admitted students will get 20 percent discount on the full tuition fee and 50 percent discount on the admission fee including all other benefits while existing students will receive 15 percent education incentive over the Summer 2020 semester. Besides these facilities, existing and newly admitted students will be able to pay this semester fee in 4 installments.
NUB will waive 15 percent or more of tuition fees who have been particularly affected by recent events or who are in particular financial distress due to the global situation. In addition, the university will continue to provide the normal need-based and merit-based scholarships it has in the past.
Professor Dr Abu Yousuf Md Abdullah, chairman of NUB Trust said, "This special incentive package has been announced keeping on that who are facing financial difficulties due to the Corona disaster and they can continue their studies."
