Southeast University observes International Mother Language Day
Students and Teachers of the Southeast University observed the International Mother Language on February 21 and payed rich tributes to the martyrs of the Language Movement of 1952.
The day started with a morning procession. Vice chancellor, faculty members, students, alumni students and officials placed floral wreaths at the university's Shaheed Minar, said a press release.
Marking the day, a discussion meeting and cultural programme also held at the university.
Prof Dr AFM Mafizul Islam, vice chancellor of the university presided over the programme while Nasiruddin Yousuf, prominent artist and film director attended the event as the chief guest.
Among others, Professor Dr ANM Mesquat Uddin, adviser to the board of trustees, Ex Major General Kazi Fakhruddin Ahmed, registrar, and other deans, chairmen, directors, and faculty members also attended the event.
