UIU arranges job fair
The Career Counseling Center of United International University (UIU) along with the UIU Alumni Associations organised a job fair titled the "UIU National Job Fair 2020" from February 23 to 24 at UIU campus.
According to a press release issued by the university, hundreds of companies took part in the fair to conduct spot interview, screening and recruitment sessions.
The university's Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Hasnan Ahmed was present as the chief guest in the inaugural ceremony of the fair. The thanks giving ceremony of the programme was presided by the university's Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman.
Among others present during the inauguration were the university's Registrar Professor ASM Salahuddin and Director of Career Counseling Center Manjurul Haque Khan along with other officials and faculty members from various institutes of the university.
The chief guest said that the job seekers should prepare themselves as skilled candidates and advised them to also become a successful entrepreneur with the experience accrued from the job.
About 20, 000 candidates attended the fair. For entry, there was no fee while only online registration was required.
Companies like British American Tobacco Bangladesh, United Group, Banglalink, Robi Axiata Ltd, Honda, Uttara Motors Ltd, Arla Foods Bangladesh Ltd, Reckitt Benckiser Bangladesh Ltd, ACI Ltd, InterContinental Dhaka, Linde Bangladesh Ltd, Kazi IT Center Ltd, Eastern Bank Ltd, Mutual Trust Bank Ltd, IDLC Finance Ltd, Navana Group, bKash Ltd, Akij Group and Akij Food and Beverage Ltd were there to conduct overall recruitment session.
Among others Mohammad Faizur Rahman, chief executive officer, United Hospital Limited, Fahim Ahmed, chief news editor, Jamuna Television, Mike Kazi, chairman, Kazi IT Center Ltd, Afreen Huda, director of human resources, Bangladesh Sri Lanka Cluster, Reckitt Benckiser Bangladesh Ltd were present.
